Cycling in the Loire Valley, France

The Loire Valley is located in central France around the middle section of the Loire River. There are numerous vineyards, fruit orchards and large fields of sunflowers. In 2000, UNESCO added the central part of the Loire River valley to its list of World Heritage sites.

Within the Loire Valley are countless chateaus, one of the largest being in Chambord, featuring 440 rooms.

Cycling along the Loire River is mostly along flat, small roads with little traffic is an unforgettable experience. This video was filmed in the summer of 2023 in the small town of Chissay-en-Touraine while on a cycling trip with Backroads Tours.
